Project Coordinator Job Opening

Guelph & Area Right to Life is looking for a new project coordinator for Sanctuary Outreach (SO) Crisis Pregnancy Support Program. This is a part-time position with semi-flexible daytime weekday hours and the position will begin in mid-June 2018. The Project Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing development of SO as well as the day-to-day tasks necessary to keep SO functioning – these include networking with other groups and organizations, creating and distributing informational materials about our services and other local supports, being available to be a part of the helpline rotation, keeping donors and supporters up-to-date on the project, recruiting and managing volunteers to help with SO, fundraising and developing relationships with corporate donors, planning outreach events and educational workshops, and meeting with and supporting pregnant women as needed.

Sanctuary Outreach operates within the guidelines of our vision, mission statement, and core values, and the Project Coordinator needs to be fully aligned with those principles and committed to ensuring that SO is in line with them at all times. Unexpectedly pregnant women are often experiencing a variety of challenges in their lives, in addition to pregnancy. The SO Project Coordinator must have strong characteristics of empathy, compassion, patience and resilience.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years degree in social services or related field AND/OR minimum 2 years of experience working in the social service field
  • Knowledge of issues related to pregnancy, parenting, adoption, and abortion
  • Experience working with vulnerable persons, especially women/girls
  • Commitment to pro-life values
  • Basic knowledge of community resources in the Guelph area (i.e., Lakeside Hope House, Beginnings, Michael House, Chalmers Community services)
  • Some graphic design experience an asset
  • G License & access to car an asset, but not necessary
